Russia has officially confirmed for the first time that one A-50U surveillance aircraft was shot down by Ukraine in February this year, resulting in the deaths of all 10 crew members on board. The incident was classified as a terrorist attack as the A-50U was not engaged in military operations at the time. The commander of the Ukrainian missile regiment, Jaman, has been placed on the federal wanted list for ordering the attack. The A-50 'Mainstay' surveillance aircraft, in service since 1984, can track up to 10 combat aircraft and costs over $300 million each.
