Russian Media: Putin to Visit Vietnam First this Month, then North Korea

Reported 11 months ago

According to Russian media outlet Vedomosti, Russian President Putin may visit Vietnam and North Korea in the coming weeks. The Russian Ambassador to North Korea, Alexander Matsegora, confirmed Putin's upcoming visit to Pyongyang, with preparations currently underway. It is reported that Putin is set to visit Vietnam first this month, followed by a visit to North Korea. This potential trip follows an invitation extended by the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam during a call with Putin in late March. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko mentioned in late May that preparations for Putin's visits to Vietnam and North Korea are in their final stages. Putin's last official visit to Vietnam was in 2013, with his last visit to North Korea dating back to his first presidential term in 2000. The international community has been eagerly monitoring Putin's return visit to North Korea since his meeting with Kim Jong-un last year during the latter's visit to Russia.
