The most advanced Russian Su-57 stealth fighter may have been the victim of its first kill, as reports from Ukraine and Russia indicate that a Su-57 parked on an airfield nearly 600 km away from the front lines was damaged by a Ukrainian drone and may not be repairable. Ukrainian military intelligence agency GUR claimed the successful destruction of the Su-57, supported by satellite images showing damage on June 8 from earlier intact images on June 7. This marks the first combat loss of a fifth-generation fighter jet in the world, with only the US F-22 and F-35, the Chinese J-20, and the Russian Su-57 currently in service as fifth-generation fighters.
