In response to declining sales in mainland China, Porsche has resorted to price reductions for promotion. With the rise of domestic brands in China, many car manufacturers are struggling to maintain sales and have been offering discounts. Porsche, facing pressure from the market, has initiated promotions on their popular Macan SUV model, offering discounts of up to 23%, amounting to 590,000 TWD. The discounts include high-value coupons ranging from 35,000 to 100,000 CNY (approx. 160,000 to 450,000 TWD), attracting potential buyers. Despite Porsche's strong presence and popularity in China in the past, competition from local brands has caused a noticeable sales decline since 2022, with China becoming the only market where Porsche sales have decreased globally. Even Japanese car brands have been impacted by the rise of Chinese domestic brands, leading to various promotional offers in the market.
