Salesforce Inc. is intensifying competition with Veeva Systems Inc. by securing deals with over 40 pharmaceutical customers, including a top global player, as it prepares to launch a new life sciences product. This move came after Veeva discontinued a noncompete agreement, prompting Salesforce to target Veeva's clientele. While Veeva maintains a dominant market share in pharmaceutical CRM software, it is in the process of reinventing its customer management application independently. Analysts suggest that Veeva may still retain most of its customers despite Salesforce's ambitions.
