Samsung Electronics is preparing to lay off thousands of employees in Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, affecting almost 10% of its workforce in these regions. The job cuts, part of a global reduction strategy, come as the tech giant faces challenges in the AI sector, lagging behind competitors in memory chip production. Although the company's total overseas staff stands at approximately 147,000, Samsung aims to minimize the impact on manufacturing positions while focusing on reducing management and support roles.
