German software giant SAP has agreed to purchase WalkMe, a digital adoption platform operator, in an all-cash deal worth about $1.5 billion. The acquisition aims to enhance SAP's business management portfolio, particularly in AI offerings, by helping end users quickly adopt new solutions. The deal, expected to close in the third quarter pending regulatory approval, offers WalkMe the opportunity to expand its market reach with support for non-SAP applications, with WalkMe's shares seeing a 42% increase following the announcement.
