In New Taipei City, a 62-year-old woman fell into a scam trap pretending to be Hong Kong star Tony Leung, with the scammer asking for money under the guise of the star needing funds for vacation expenses. The woman was scammed of NT$2.64 million between January and June. After realizing the scam, her family reported to the police, leading to the arrest of a 58-year-old female driver involved in the scam group, who claimed she was recruiting for her public relations company under Tony Leung's name. Police urge caution against fraud cases involving impersonation of celebrities and advise verifying suspicious messages before taking any action.
