Scam Group Impersonates Ministry of National Defense to Steal Personal Data; Minister Doesn't Rule Out Foreign Forces

Reported 8 months ago

Recently, a survey for military personnel requesting personal information such as rank and unit under the guise of assessing the new minister's satisfaction level has been circulating on social media platforms. Minister of National Defense, Gu Li-Hsiung, confirmed it as a scam aimed at obtaining personal data, and he mentioned that the involvement of foreign forces cannot be ruled out. Many soldiers have received the survey, with some even unknowingly providing their information. The Ministry of National Defense has issued a warning, urging vigilance against potential threats from foreign forces and physical risks. Additionally, on June 20, the military conducted a comprehensive aerial defense exercise involving various fighter jets, helicopters, and air defense systems across Taiwan to enhance combat readiness and response capabilities.
