Zum company in the US Oakland School District is testing bi-directional charging school buses, aiming to turn electric school buses into mobile power sources and feed battery power back to the grid. By implementing Vehicle to Grid (V2G) concept, the buses not only charge from the grid but also send battery power back. With an estimated 500,000 school buses nationwide, this initiative could potentially contribute significant energy to the grid, offering additional income opportunities for transport operators and supporting sustainable energy development.
