The long-standing lawsuit between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple Labs, which began in 2020 over allegations of XRP sales violating securities laws, has officially ended. Both parties have agreed to withdraw their appeals concerning a 2023 ruling, concluding the legal battle and maintaining the penalties imposed by District Judge Analisa Torres, which include a $125 million fine. Following the announcement, XRP saw a 5% increase in its trading value.
