As COVID-19 cases rise, the Department of Health in Taiwan estimates a peak in mid-July, with weekly confirmed cases reaching up to 100,000. The first batch of 3 million free rapid tests has been distributed through 2520 clinics, with the second batch expected to arrive this week and be fully distributed within a week. After the free tests are depleted, they will return to market sales, with the next batch not arriving until September. A shortage is expected in August, and the FDA should plan accordingly.
