An explosion occurred at a self-service restaurant on Liyuan Road in Taichung, injuring a female employee and the manager, who sustained severe burns covering 60% of his body and required intubation. The explosion was initially suspected to have originated in the kitchen during food preparation. The incident occurred as the restaurant had just opened in June, ruling out old pipelines or rodent damage as causes. Surveillance footage captured the moment of explosion, with employees managing to escape. The manager and the female employee were both hospitalized with burn injuries. The cause of the explosion is being investigated.
