FTNN News reported on June 9, 2024, that Taiwan's stock market rose by 777.62 points in May, closing at 21,174.22 points on May 31, with a 3.81% increase. In May, the three major institutions collectively bought a net of NT$130.985 billion, with self-traders leading the way with NT$24.388 billion in buying, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) (2330) being one of the top stocks purchased by self-traders in terms of quantities. Among the self-traders' top purchases in May were stocks related to NVIDIA's supply chain, including TSMC, Foxconn (2317), Acer (2353), and Wistron (2301).
