The 26th Shanghai International Film Festival has announced its competition lineup for 2024, highlighting a selection heavy on Chinese films alongside European, Japanese, and Central Asian titles, with no entries from the U.S. or South Korea. Standout films include Chinese director Guan Hu's drama "A Man and a Woman" featuring Huang Bo and Ni Ni, as well as works from directors Wei Shujun and Zhang Dalei. The festival, running from June 14 to 23, will feature Tran Anh Hung as the president of the jury, with a diverse panel of international filmmakers and actors.
