During the visit of Shanghai Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office Director Zhong Xiaomin to Taiwan as a prelude to the 'Twin-City Forum,' the secretive itinerary of the Shanghai preparatory mission led to questioning by council members. Taipei Mayor Jiang Wan-an stated that the forum is currently the only official dialogue platform between the two sides and should continue based on principles of equality, dignity, goodwill, and mutual benefit, with itineraries disclosed daily in accordance with regulations. Addressing criticisms on itinerary transparency and political posturing, Jiang emphasized the importance of practical cooperation and mutual learning in various municipal issues faced by both cities during such exchanges.
