Shohei Ohtani's Ex-Interpreter Embezzles 550 Million NTD for Gambling Debt, Even Unable to Work as Uber Eats Delivery Driver Due to Lawsuit

On June 4th, Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter Ippei Mizuhara admitted to embezzling around 17 million USD (approximately 550 million NTD) from Ohtani's account to repay gambling debts. Mizuhara was recently found working as an Uber Eats delivery driver in Los Angeles, but Uber Eats has suspended him due to ongoing legal issues. Mizuhara pleaded guilty to bank fraud and false tax filing, facing up to 30 years in prison for the former and 3 years for the latter. Sentencing is scheduled for October 25th, with Mizuhara unable to work as a delivery driver anymore.
