An R&D staff member at the Shenzhen development center of online platform Shopee in China reportedly passed away recently after suddenly feeling unwell. Despite colleagues and the company calling for emergency help promptly, the staff member could not be saved. Some employees revealed that Shopee has been working overtime until 9 to 10 PM without overtime pay starting this year. The company has set up a special team to assist the family with post-event procedures.
