Following reports of a shortage of intravenous (IV) fluids due to the closure of a factory in Taiwan, Deputy Minister of Health Lin Ching-yi initially responded defensively to a doctor's complaint on social media but later apologized, acknowledging the inconvenience caused. The shortage resulted in the government importing IV fluids from seven companies to meet the demand. Despite efforts to ensure a continuous supply, not all specifications could be met, leading to concerns among medical professionals and the public.
