Reported 7 months ago

Taipei City Department of Transportation announced that to reduce exposure to the sun for motorcyclists and pedestrians during the hot summer months, the red light duration at 740 intersections will be shortened from July 1 to the end of August, between 9 AM and 4:30 PM, with an average reduction of 21 seconds per red light. The department will monitor traffic flow and congestion levels after the adjustment and make further changes based on public feedback. This initiative aims to decrease waiting time and sun exposure for road users during hot weather.
