On June 16, 2024, at 11:32 PM, the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Central Geological Survey released the Offshore Wind Power Geological and Environmental Perception System. The Center has completed regional-scale underground geological surveys around Penghu, Changhua, and Miaoli nearshore areas for offshore wind farms, making the information available on the system for wind farm regulatory authorities and developers to refer to for planning and development. By incorporating the latest survey analysis results and factors affecting the geological conditions, the Center aims to help developers plan wind turbine layouts more precisely to avoid construction risks, thereby accelerating the environmental impact assessment process and the green energy output. The ongoing offshore wind farm geological surveys are expected to provide comprehensive marine geological information by the end of 2025, supporting sustainable development in Taiwan's green energy industry.
