Silver Lake Intersection Named after Laurel and Hardy's 'The Music Box'

The City Council in Silver Lake has voted to name the intersection of Vendome Street and Del Monte Drive as the historic site of Laurel and Hardy's classic 1932 film 'The Music Box.' The film, for which Laurel and Hardy won an Academy Award for short comedy, was filmed on the Music Box Steps in Silver Lake, where fans from around the world visit. The Silver Lake Improvement Association will also host an annual 'Music Box Steps Day Festival' at Laurel and Hardy Park to celebrate this landmark in the film industry.
