Skipping Breakfast Linked to Higher Cancer Risk, Says Nutritionist

A recent study suggests that long-term skipping of breakfast could lead to increased risks of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cognitive impairments, and even cancer. According to nutritionist Yan Yu-Xuan, citing a research report from August 2023, individuals who eat breakfast only 1 to 2 times a week have a 2.35 times higher risk of gastrointestinal cancers compared to regular breakfast eaters. The study emphasizes the importance of establishing a habit of eating breakfast regularly and provides recommendations for healthy breakfast choices to improve cognition and stability blood sugar levels.
