According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, Skydance Media has reached a preliminary agreement to purchase Shari Redstone's family company, National Amusements, and merge with Paramount Global. The deal involves Skydance paying $1.75 billion for National Amusements. Paramount's shares rose by 9% in after-hours trading. National Amusements plans to bring the deal to a special committee at Paramount for review. Paramount did not provide a comment, and there was no immediate response from National Amusements and Skydance to Reuters' requests for comment.
