Sleeping All the Way to Beijing! Direct Sleeper Trains from Hong Kong to Beijing and Shanghai Launched, Costing Half of Airfare

Reported 8 months ago

Starting from now, travelers can opt for direct sleeper high-speed rail services from Hong Kong to Beijing or Shanghai, rather than taking a flight or transferring trains. The first Hong Kong-Beijing direct sleeper train departed from Hong Kong on the evening of the 15th and arrived in Beijing early this morning, allowing passengers to reach the city center after a good night's sleep. The sleeper train cabins accommodate 4 passengers with upper and lower berths, equipped with tables, hot water cups, adjustable lighting, air conditioning, slippers, charging sockets, toilets at both ends, and a dining car serving up to 32 passengers simultaneously. The ticket price for the new sleeper train service, previously priced at over 10,000 NTD for flights between Hong Kong and Beijing, is now around 1100 CNY, equivalent to less than 6,000 NTD, costing half as much. The service aims to provide convenience and bring economic benefits by improving travel and tourism options between the two destinations.
