On the evening of June 15, 2024, a fire alarm sounded at the Criminal Investigation Bureau's 2nd-floor building due to smoke and fire. It was initially suspected to be caused by smoke bombs spontaneously combusting in the ammunition storage room, but the fire was quickly extinguished without casualties. The exact cause is being assessed by the Taipei City Fire Department. Quick action by security personnel prevented injuries, and the incident is under further investigation.
