A man surnamed Yan (28 years old) from Chiayi was caught smuggling drugs into Taiwan from the Netherlands using each pack of drugs weighing 60 grams sent as letters to avoid suspicion. Through Telegram, he coordinated with buyers and collectors, successfully smuggling at least 19 packs of various drugs like cocaine, marijuana, and methamphetamine in just two months. The case was discovered by the Criminal Investigation Bureau's 3rd Brigade, leading to the arrest of Yan and 5 others under the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act. The smuggling method involved sending drugs to unoccupied residential addresses, employing different individuals at each stage, ensuring that no one handled the drugs from start to finish.
