Sony Group is exploring the sale of its cellular chipsets unit, Sony Semiconductor Israel, to concentrate more on its entertainment segment. The sale, still in its early stages, could be valued around $300 million, attracting interest from financial sponsors and semiconductor industry players. Acquired in 2016 for $212 million, this unit generates approximately $80 million in annual revenue. Sony has been shifting its focus towards games, movies, and music, with over 60% of its profits coming from entertainment last year.
