Sony Pictures Television is closing down TriStar TV, known for producing shows like "The Afterparty" and "Lucky Hank," and will integrate it into the company's centralized development group. The current TriStar slate will be managed by Sony Pictures Television's drama development department. Jennifer Turner and Nicole Norwood, who led TriStar TV, are leaving the studio as part of this transition. The decision to shut down TriStar TV follows the folding of Sony's Gemstone label into the main studio in November 2022, and staff cuts related to this closure are not expected.
