FTNN News Network on June 28, 2024, reported that the Japanese-style department store LaLaport in the Nangang Economic and Trade Park in Taipei is expected to open in the second half of 2024. This will be the first LaLaport in Taipei. Xinyi Real Estate experts mentioned that the lack of large regional shopping malls in Nangang in the past often required residents to travel to Xinyi or Da'an District for shopping and leisure on weekends. With the opening of LaLaport, it is expected to boost the development of the surrounding commercial district and make life more convenient for local residents. The project manager of the Nangang Park store, Chen Xiaojun, further elaborated that after LaLaport opens, there will be department stores, cinemas, and good places for family leisure on holidays, eliminating the need to go to neighboring districts like Da'an or Xinyi. The large department store is also expected to stimulate the prosperity of surrounding businesses and increase the agglomeration effect of commercial activities.
