The South Korean Army announced the deployment of their homemade version of the M3 floating bridge vehicle KM3 'Sulreong' on June 12, 2024, to strengthen their units' capability to cross geographical barriers and defend against potential threats like North Korea. South Korea showcased the 'Sulreong' floating bridge vehicle in action, demonstrating its superior transport capacity by assisting in river crossings with main battle tanks and armored vehicles, as well as deploying attack helicopters and drones to provide air support. The homemade KM3 'Sulreong' has increased load capacity by 10 tons to 64 tons, reduced manpower by 80%, deployment time by 70%, and added nuclear and biohazard protection, enhancing its defensive capabilities.
