South Korea Faces Export Decline as Tariffs Impact US and China Shipments

In May, South Korea experienced a 1.3% decline in exports due to reduced shipments to the United States and China, marking the first decrease in four months. This decline follows months of rising exports fueled by strong semiconductor sales, which could not offset the impacts of U.S. tariffs. Despite the decline, shipments to certain regions like the European Union and Taiwan saw increases, with semiconductor exports rising significantly.
