South Korea: Factory Fire in Seoul Kills 1, Injures 6, and Leaves 19 Missing

In the early hours of June 24, 2024, a fire broke out at a battery factory in Hwaseong City, near Seoul, South Korea. Reports indicate that over 20 bodies have been found inside the factory. The factory, spanning approximately 2300 square meters and dealing with lithium chemicals, faced challenges in extinguishing the fire due to the nature of the substances within. The President of South Korea has instructed officials to prioritize life-saving efforts. Currently, 145 firefighters and 50 pieces of equipment are engaged in firefighting operations, and efforts are underway to confirm the status of the 23 workers who were reportedly at the factory during the incident.
