South Korea Navy held a formal delivery ceremony for its six American-made P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) on July 4th, with South Korea Defense Minister Shin Jong-shik attending. The P-8A aircraft will undergo a year-long evaluation and is planned to be operational by mid-2025 to strengthen South Korea Navy's airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. The P-8A fleet will replace the existing P-3C and refurbished P-3CK anti-submarine aircraft, enhancing South Korea's maritime patrol capabilities.
