A leakage accident occurred at the Gyeongju City's Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant in Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, with as much as 2.3 tons of nuclear waste water accidentally flowing into the sea. The plant had ceased operations for preventive maintenance since April this year, and the leakage was discovered due to a decrease in water level in the spent fuel pool. Experts are currently assessing the environmental impact of the incident.
