The South Korean Air Force held a grand retirement ceremony for the F-4 'Ghost' fighter jet at the Suwon Air Base in Seoul, marking the end of its illustrious 55-year service in guarding the country's airspace. The Defense Minister expressed gratitude for the aircraft's noble spirit in defending South Korea's airspace and thanked all personnel who have helped maintain and operate the F-4 over the past half-century. With only about 10 aircraft still flying out of the previous fleet of 220, the retirement ceremony featured various tributes and a flypast by current fighter jets, signifying the passing of the air defense duty to the new generation of aircraft.
