A leakage from the spent fuel storage pool of Unit 4, currently offline, at the Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant in Gyeongsangbuk-do in Gyeongju City, South Korea, caused 2.3 tons of storage water to flow into the ocean. The South Korean Nuclear Safety and Security Commission dispatched experts to evaluate the environmental impact. No abnormal levels of radioactive cesium-137 were detected in the nearby waters following the incident, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause and repercussions of the leak.
