A massive fire broke out on June 24, 2024, at an AriCell lithium battery factory in Hwaseong City, South Korea, resulting in 22 fatalities, with 18 of the deceased being Chinese workers. The fire, which lasted for hours before being controlled, led to 2 severely injured individuals and 5 lightly injured. Investigations continue to determine the exact cause of the explosion that triggered the fire on the factory's second floor where most of the victims were found.
