In July, South Korea's exports increased by 5.9% year-on-year, reaching $60.82 billion, marking the fastest growth in seven months, driven by strong semiconductor demand and shipments ahead of anticipated higher US tariffs. Despite the optimism from a recent trade deal, economists warn of a potential decline in demand starting in August as tariffs rise. Notable increases were seen in semiconductor exports, up 39.3%, while overall imports grew modestly by 0.7%, resulting in a trade surplus of $6.61 billion.
