South Korea's manufacturing sector continued to contract in July for the sixth month in a row, with the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) dropping to 48.0 from 48.7 in June. The decline was attributed to uncertainty over U.S. tariffs affecting output and orders. Economists noted that production volumes and new orders fell at a faster rate than the previous month, and manufacturers have grown pessimistic about the economic outlook amid concerns about domestic recovery and ongoing tariff policy uncertainty.
