South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol is facing a series of impeachment efforts launched by the country's opposition parties, with the main opposition party, the People Power Party, initiating consecutive impeachments. Not only have over 930,000 people signed a petition to impeach President Yoon, but the People Power Party also introduced a motion in parliament to impeach four prosecutors investigating corruption cases of the People Power Party's former leader. The President's office stated that without substantial violations of the law, the impeachment case against him cannot proceed and criticized the recent string of 'political' impeachment cases. The impeachment of the prosecutors proposed by the People Power Party will be reviewed by the South Korean parliamentary legislative and judicial committee.
