Samsung Electronics union leaders in South Korea announced a 3-day strike by employees after negotiations with management collapsed. The National Samsung Electronics Union, representing about 20% of Samsung's workforce, declared the strike as a final resort following failed talks on wages and benefits since January. The union emphasized the strike was to demand improved working conditions and neglected rights, rejecting a 5.1% pay raise proposal and seeking enhancements in annual leave and transparent performance-based bonuses.
