According to TTV News on June 9, 2024, at 7:30 PM, the Central Weather Bureau announced that although the frontal system is gradually moving north away from Taiwan's northern waters, southwest winds continue to bring warm and moist air, leading to sporadic short-term showers or thunderstorms in the south and localized showers or thunderstorms in the central region. Other areas will experience cloudy to clear skies with a chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms. There is a possibility of heavy rain in the southern regions and various mountainous areas in the afternoon. The public is advised to be cautious of landslides, falling rocks, and sudden rises in river water levels. Beachgoers should stay alert to weather changes for safety. The Weather Bureau has issued a heavy rain warning for 7 counties and cities, particularly in the Changhua to southern areas, including Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County, with a likelihood of heavy rain and risks of lightning strikes and strong gusts.
