The government will criminalize the creation of 'deepfake' images with sexual content, raise the age of data protection consent from 14 to 16, and introduce a digital restraining order to restrict certain online interactions. The bill, which aims to reassure families about children's digital safety, requires parliamentary approval. This initiative aligns with the EU's Digital Services Act and follows similar actions taken by countries like France and the UK to ensure online safety for children.
