On June 14, 2024, at 6:35 am, a magnificent scene of purple butterflies fluttering in the sky at the Yushan Trail entrance in Nantou captivated onlookers. As the weather warms up, the purple butterflies migrate north, creating a stunning phenomenon known as the 'Butterfly Path Spectacle,' showcasing Taiwan's ecological marvel. The Yushan National Park highlighted that the butterflies witnessed were newly emerged purple butterflies, part of a large-scale migration termed the secondary migration, with species like the Purple Crow and Blue Crow butterflies being abundant. Observing these butterflies fly over the area towards the north creates a spectacular 'Butterfly Path' that visitors can cherish and help in the conservation efforts of these ecological treasures.
