Chinese electricity company SPIC announced a $147.41 million investment in constructing two wind farms in Northeastern Brazil, while also entering the Brazilian solar sector with two new parks. The wind farms in Rio Grande do Norte state will have a combined capacity of 105.4 MW, with construction starting in January 2025, while new solar parks in Piaui and Ceara states, totaling 738 MWp, have already begun operations. SPIC aims to become one of Brazil's top three energy generators and is looking into future participation in hydroelectric projects and green hydrogen production.
