Traditional snack 'candy apples' has been trending in South Korea, sparking a wave of challenges with the spicy and sweet version becoming popular. However, the recent closure wave of candy apple stores, with an average of two closures a day, indicates a decline in sales. Speculations suggest health concerns, with one candy apple containing half of the recommended daily sugar intake for adults, may be one of the reasons for the cooling trend, as highlighted by the South Korean Consumers Union.
