Square Enix has announced that the series' new installment 'Trials of Mana Visions' will be officially released on August 29 this year, after a 16-year hiatus. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC platforms, with the Steam version set to go live on August 30. This fifth main installment, set in a semi-open wilderness, maintains the series' core theme of a world tied to nature and spirits, allowing players to explore a vast world and enjoy fast-paced combat while integrating features of next-gen consoles for a new gaming experience. Players will take on the role of Val, living in the village of Tiana and embarking on an adventure with a childhood friend chosen as the shrine maiden to unravel the truths of the world, requiring strategic use of weapons imbued with elemental power to fight enemies and switch classes and control characters based on their playstyle.
