Squirrel Causes Power Outage in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City

A power outage occurred in the Zhongli District of Taoyuan City this morning at 6:10 AM, affecting nearly 5,000 households. The outage was caused by a squirrel touching the power lines, resulting in a high-voltage disconnection incident. Taiwan Power Company immediately dispatched personnel to the scene for repairs, restoring power to 90% of the affected households (4,450 households) within the first hour. The remaining 511 households had power restored by 7:36 AM. This incident is reminiscent of another blackout in Taichung's Dalian Road section due to an animal-related issue affecting 168 households during the early morning hours.
