Starlink, a SpaceX subsidiary, has signed a significant direct-to-cell deal with telecom group Veon, enabling access to over 150 million potential customers. This partnership allows smartphones to connect to Starlink's satellite network, enhancing coverage in remote areas. Initially, the service will integrate with Veon's Beeline in Kazakhstan and Kyivstar in Ukraine, with launches planned for late 2025 and 2026. This nonexclusive agreement paves the way for Veon to also explore partnerships with other satellite providers.
